Countdown to your Wedding

The Early Planning Stage

• Decide where and when you want to get married and make arrangements for your marriage ceremony.
• Compile your guest list in consultation with both families.
• Book your reception - at the Lovat Arms Hotel we will be more than happy to give you any advice on this subject.
• Choose Bridesmaids, Best Man and Ushers.
• One of the most exciting things you will be arranging is your honeymoon, so book this well in advance to avoid disappointment.

4 - 6 months

• Now is the ideal time for the groom to arrange the wedding cars
• Book a photographer or video company so you can always be reminded of your Special day.
• Order your wedding stationery - invitations, service sheets etc.
• Start discussing bouquets, head dresses and flower arrangements with your florist.
• Order the wedding cake.

2 - 3months

• Send your invitations and gift list out at least six weeks before the wedding.
• Make sure that your guests have details of hotel accommodation.
• Buy presents for Best man and Bridesmaids and those all-important wedding rings.
• Finalise the menu and wine list.

2 weeks - 1 month

• Finalise the guest list and seating plan.
• Visit your hairdresser and book your final hair appointment.
• Check the transport to and from the ceremony is organised.
• Arrange rehearsals for the wedding ceremony.
• Make final checks on arrangements for clothes, cake, flowers and photography.
• Check your honeymoon arrangements.
• Organise a hen or stag night - not advisable the night before the wedding!
• Confirm final reception arrangements at the Lovat Arms Hotel.
• Last but not least, just relax and enjoy the weeks preceding the big event.
