Countdown to your Wedding
The Early Planning Stage
- Decide where and when you want to get married and make arrangements for your marriage ceremony.
- Compile your guest list in consultation with both families.
- Book your reception - at the Lovat Arms Hotel we will be more than happy to give you any advice on this subject.
- Choose Bridesmaids, Best Man and Ushers.
- One of the most exciting things you will be arranging is your honeymoon, so book this well in advance to avoid disappointment.
4 - 6 months
- Now is the ideal time for the groom to arrange the wedding cars
- Book a photographer or video company so you can always be reminded of your Special day.
- Order your wedding stationery - invitations, service sheets etc.
- Start discussing bouquets, head dresses and flower arrangements with your florist.
- Order the wedding cake.
2 - 3months
- Send your invitations and gift list out at least six weeks before the wedding.
- Make sure that your guests have details of hotel accommodation.
- Buy presents for Best man and Bridesmaids and those all-important wedding rings.
- Finalise the menu and wine list.
2 weeks - 1 month
- Finalise the guest list and seating plan.
- Visit your hairdresser and book your final hair appointment.
- Check the transport to and from the ceremony is organised.
- Arrange rehearsals for the wedding ceremony.
- Make final checks on arrangements for clothes, cake, flowers and photography.
- Check your honeymoon arrangements.
- Organise a hen or stag night - not advisable the night before the wedding!
- Confirm final reception arrangements at the Lovat Arms Hotel.
- Last but not least, just relax and enjoy the weeks preceding the big event.
